I took this picture at my uncles house in Marysville, PA. My Dad's side of the family all live in Marysville so the location has a lot of meaning to me. Also, my Dad collects photos of the Rockville bridge which is the bridge in the photo.

This photo was taken at one of my diving practices. Diving is a big part of my life so for me, this photo symbolizes all the friends and teammates I have because of it.

This photo was taken in my neighborhood from. I drive on this road and by these trees everyday but in this photo, I can see them from a different point of view. The location is important to me because it was taken at my neighbor's house who was my best friend when we were younger.

This photo is of my grandparent's house from their backyard. This location means a lot to me because I have so many memories here with my family. I love being here and being with my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

I think HDR photography is a very interesting and fun way to edit photos. They produce a different painting-like look. Although I wouldn't want all of my photos to look like this, I think it's an effect that I would continue to use in the future.

I think my images tell a story about what is important in my life and the things I like to do. Through this project, I had to connect with the locations I was photographing. This made me look at places differently so that I could portray my feelings on the location through my photo. This is something I'll try to do with my photography after this.

When I took my photos, I tried to take most of them at sunset. This affected the sky in some of my photos by making them look pretty and colorful. When I took the diving board photo, the lighting was more of a disadvantage as the room was very dark.

Personal List

-My grandmas backyard
M cousins and I always used to play here. We helped our grandfather build us a fort in the woods.

-My grandmas pool
Spend a lot of my summer here. Sometimes my friends come with me to swim.

-My uncles house (bridge)
My dad collects pictures of the bridge because he grew up here. My uncle still lives on the water here.

-Diving Board
I'm on the diving team and it is where a spend a lot of my free time.

-Park
My sister and I walk here all the time in the summer and used to go to summer camps here when we were younger.

Sketchbook Cover

The quote I chose was "die with memories not dreams." I like this quote because it says to go after your dreams and aspirations rather than just imagining what would happen or what if. On the cover I have pictures from over this past summer. I have a blue underwater picture with my friend Christina. I also have blue water that I cut with the word "dive" to match my picture with Christina because we're on the diving team together. I have a picture with my friend , Jen, from when we went to the beach together this summer. Along with that picture, I have a photo of the sunset from our beach trip. I used these two pictures on my cover to show that my friends are a big part of who I am and how I identify myself. Another big aspect of who I am is my family. This is why I have a picture of my family and I from our vacation this summer. I have another picture from Jamaica -where we went on vacation. I like the end result of my cover because I think it represents me well. I also really like the colors and shapes that I used. If I could change anything it would be that my pictures were better quality because they didn't print out very clear.

High Dynamic Range Photography...

HDR photography is used because the human eye can perceive a large range of contrast in a scene that cameras cannot. We can see brightly light areas as well as details in the shadows of an area. A camera's sensor can not capture that great range of contrast. HDR is used so that a photo can capture this range. Photographers take 3-7 photos of the same scene, each with a different Shutter Speed. Then ,when editing, they will blend all of the photos together to get an interesting end result.

HDR online

Framing
I chose this photo because I liked how you can see all the small details in the foreground and background. It is framing because the trees and plants act as a frame to the water and sky behind them.

Symmetrical Balance
I chose this photo because I really liked the colors in the sky and how they reflect onto to the water. I also like how the colors reflect onto the rocks at the bottom of the photo. It is symmetrical because the colors in the sky and the colors in the water balance each other.

Leading Lines
This photo has curved lines which lead the eye . The line that is created from the edge of the canal and the fence leads to the houses and sky in the back of the photo.

Perspective
This photo demonstrates a different point of view of the Eiffel Tower. I found the photo interesting because the HDR effect makes the photo seem dark and mysterious.

Repetition
This photo shows repetition of trucks in a parking lot. I liked this photo because the photographer was able to capture all of the details in the photo -like the reflections that are on the trucks.

Asymmetrical Balance
This photo portrays asymmetrical balance . I like it because each side balances the other out without being identical. This draws your eye around the photo to the different rocks, the sunset, and mountains. I also like that details and colors of the foreground and background are clear.

HDR in school

ISO 400- f/22- SS 1/6, 1/3, 1/1
I choose to take a picture of the cafeteria because this is where I get to be with my friends during the school day. Since I don't have many classes with them, lunch is really the only time I get to talk to my friends.

ISO 100- f/22- SS  1/125, 1/250, 1/50
I took this photo because I liked the way the sky looked with the light coming through.

ISO 100- f/22- SS 1/8, 1/60, 1/80
I took this photo because of the repetition in the trees leading the eye towards the school.

Best Photo of Summer

This is my favorite photo of the summer because it reminds me of my trip to Jamaica with my family. I went with my Mom, Dad, sister, and grandma. It was a beautiful place and everyone was always seemingly happy with the little that they had. It was amazing to drive outside of the resort and see the culture of the Jamaican people and the poverty they lived in. This photo is from inside the resort we stayed at in Montego Bay and I took it on the last day of the trip.
